Current availability
The subject-specific curriculum is authored but not yet published for completion. Learners may inspect its scope and learning design now. Start, grading, and completion remain unavailable until every listed gate passes.
- qualified review approval is required
- reviewer identity, qualification, evidence, and approval date are required
What this course establishes
- Map school, apprenticeship, examination, license, establishment, service-scope and workplace-safety gates without claiming barber status
- Analyze fictional consultations and create proportion-, texture-, growth-pattern- and maintenance-aware haircut and facial-hair design plans
- Audit fictional cleaning/disinfection, tool, product, service, accessibility, consent, business, incident and quality records
Entry knowledge
- Careful reading, arithmetic and timing, visual-spatial reasoning, respectful customer communication and willingness to stop when scope, health or consent is uncertain
- Ability to distinguish client goal, observation, product label, service hypothesis, licensed diagnosis, contraindication and verified outcome
- Commitment to inclusive service across hair textures, curl patterns, density, length, gender expression, age and disability without stereotyping
Scope boundaries
- All clients, images, hair/scalp observations, products, tools and services are fictional. Learners must not cut hair, use clippers/shears/razors, shave, apply heat or chemicals, perform scalp/skin treatment, disinfect contaminated tools or respond hands-on to blood exposure through this course. Manual service requires a licensed or board-authorized school, apprenticeship or supervised setting.
- This is not a state-approved barber program, apprenticeship, required theory/practical hours, practical examination, barber/cosmetology/instructor/establishment license, continuing education, bloodborne-pathogens exposure-control program, medical evaluation, product certification, college credit or professional certification.
- Barbers observe and refer; they do not diagnose or treat disease unless separately licensed. No completion time, score or internal certificate predicts licensure, examination performance, safe technique, employment or client outcome. Acute allergic reaction, eye exposure, uncontrolled bleeding or other emergency requires the establishment response plan and verified medical/emergency help.
Fastest competency route
Completion is self-paced and competency-based. Prior knowledge can shorten conceptual study only when jurisdiction, client goal, hair/scalp observations, design rationale, sources, product labels, sanitation records and outcomes remain traceable across varied fictional cases. Required hours, manual skill and safety competence require a state-approved or otherwise recognized supervised route; no fastest-hour, license, examination or employment promise is made.
- Pass diagnostics on licensing, consultation, hair/scalp analysis, design, tool selection, infection control, product boundaries, accessibility and records
- Repair every planted defect in the fictional barber-service audit
- Complete and defend the inclusive consultation, service-plan and quality dossier
Full self-paced route
- Profession, licensing, consultation, consent, hair/scalp observation and referral boundaries
- Haircut and facial-hair design systems, texture and growth analysis, tools, sequencing, ergonomics and communication
- Cleaning/disinfection, sharps and exposure governance, product and chemical limits, accessibility, business operations, handoff and quality
- Applied inclusive consultation, service-plan and quality dossier

4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.
Haircut and facial-hair design, texture and growth, tools, sequencing, and ergonomics
Construct a paper-only service plan using shape, elevation, direction, distribution, weight and finish concepts without handling tools or a client.
4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.
Infection control, chemical boundaries, accessibility, business operations, and quality
Audit fictional shop systems for clean-to-dirty flow, label compliance, exposure response, inclusive service, truthful records and measurable outcomes.
