What is saved
Your account email, display name, portal choices, course progress, assignments, advisor history, learning preferences, and portfolio planning may be saved. Passwords are transformed with a unique salt and a one-way PBKDF2-SHA-256 password hash. Plaintext or reversibly encrypted passwords are not stored.
Guest records
Guest choices remain in this browser. Creating a new account copies the current guest record into that new account. Signing into an existing account loads that account without merging it; the guest copy remains until browser storage is cleared.
FlowState connection
Connection is optional. When you approve it, University sends your identity, selected program information, and one suggested study task. Passwords, assignments, and advisor conversations are never included by default.
Your controls
Authenticated students can export a readable copy of account data, sign out, or permanently delete the account from the Account menu.
Sensitive information
Do not enter medical records, government identification numbers, banking credentials, or other highly sensitive information into assignments or advisor messages.
