Current availability
The subject-specific curriculum is authored but not yet published for completion. Learners may inspect its scope and learning design now. Start, grading, and completion remain unavailable until every listed gate passes.
- qualified review approval is required
- reviewer identity, qualification, evidence, and approval date are required
What this course establishes
- Map academy, appointment, facility, custody, assignment and training gates without claiming correctional-officer authority
- Apply fictional intake, objective classification, accessible communication, daily management, PREA, grievance, medical and suicide-escalation controls
- Audit fictional incident, force/medical, discipline, release, record, privacy and quality systems using independent evidence and valid denominators
Entry knowledge
- Clear communication, reading and factual documentation, ethical reasoning, emotional self-regulation, teamwork, basic data literacy and respect for the dignity and legal rights of every person
- Ability to separate legal status, court order, agency policy, classification input, allegation, observation, clinical decision, investigation result, disciplinary finding and administrative data
- Commitment to stop and escalate when identity, custody authority, count/accountability, health, disability access, suicide risk, PREA safety, staffing, supervision, equipment or emergency command is uncertain
Scope boundaries
- All people, facilities, cases, court orders and events are fictional. Learners must not detain, admit, classify, house, count, search, restrain, transport, supervise, discipline, isolate, question, use force against, release or access records about a real person; enter a secure facility role; impersonate staff; carry a weapon; respond to a real incident; or provide medical or mental-health care through this course.
- This is not a correctional academy, peace-officer course, NIC course, PREA auditor training, firearms or defensive-tactics training, restraint or cell-entry training, CPR/first-aid certification, medical/mental-health training, background or fitness clearance, license, appointment, continuing education or college credit. Only the responsible jurisdiction, agency, facility and credentialing body grant authority.
- No completion time, score or internal certificate predicts hiring, academy or probation completion, certification, appointment, safety, legal compliance, release outcome or reduced recidivism. For an immediate real safety, medical, suicide or sexual-abuse concern, use the facility's verified emergency and mandatory-reporting process; do not rely on this course.
Fastest competency route
Completion is self-paced and competency-based. Prior knowledge can shorten conceptual study only when custody authority, identity, classification, access, safety, clinical escalation, evidence, review and continuity remain traceable across varied simulations. Physical and operational competence requires authorized in-person training; no fastest-hour, certification, appointment, legal-compliance or safety promise is made.
- Pass diagnostics on authority, intake, classification, access, PREA, health, suicide escalation, records, grievance, force accountability and release continuity
- Repair every planted defect in the fictional custody audit
- Complete and defend the simulation-only lawful custody and continuity dossier
Full self-paced route
- Role gates, lawful admission, intake, objective classification, accessibility and program access
- Daily management, communication, PREA, health, suicide prevention, grievance and emergency escalation
- Incident and force accountability, discipline, records, release continuity, quality and system learning
- Applied lawful custody and continuity dossier
