Current availability
The subject-specific curriculum is authored but not yet published for completion. Learners may inspect its scope and learning design now. Start, grading, and completion remain unavailable until every listed gate passes.
- qualified review approval is required
- reviewer identity, qualification, evidence, and approval date are required
What this course establishes
- Translate mission, assets, threats, vulnerabilities and controls into a prioritized, evidence-linked risk register and defensible security baseline
- Normalize and correlate synthetic identity, endpoint, network, email and cloud telemetry into testable detections with measured false-positive and false-negative tradeoffs
- Triage, escalate and document a synthetic incident through containment, eradication, recovery, notification referral and lessons learned without exceeding authority or destroying evidence
Entry knowledge
- Basic operating-system, network and cloud concepts
- Comfort reading structured records and using spreadsheets
- Commitment to written authorization, least privilege and evidence handling
Scope boundaries
- All exercises use supplied synthetic data and isolated examples; the course does not authorize scanning, probing, exploiting, credential testing, persistence, malware execution, interception, surveillance or access to any real system or account
- Does not replace an incident commander, digital-forensics specialist, malware analyst, penetration tester, network/cloud/identity administrator, privacy or legal counsel, regulator, law-enforcement contact, insurer, clinician or qualified certification provider
Fastest competency route
Completion is self-paced and competency-based. Prior technical experience shortens study only when every authorization, risk, telemetry, detection, triage, evidence, response, privacy, recovery and reporting criterion is demonstrated; no fixed duration, job, clearance, certification, tool access, incident authority or security outcome is promised.
- Pass diagnostics covering authorization, risk, assets, identity, network, telemetry, detection, triage, incident response, privacy, recovery and reporting
- Complete the synthetic security-event audit and an evidence-linked analyst casebook
- Correct every unknown asset, stale account, impossible-travel assumption, malformed timestamp, logging gap, untested detection, duplicate alert, exposed secret, destroyed evidence, unsupported attribution, inaccessible report and incomplete recovery validation
Full self-paced route
- Governance, authorization, assets, threats, vulnerabilities and risk
- Telemetry, normalization, detection engineering and triage
- Incident response, evidence, communications, recovery and improvement
- Applied defensive-analysis portfolio and final assessment
Lesson and assessment map
Authorization, governance, assets, threats, vulnerabilities, and risk
Build a bounded analysis plan and prioritize security risk from verified mission, asset, dependency, threat, vulnerability and control evidence.
4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.
Telemetry, normalization, detection engineering, and alert triage
Turn authorized multi-source telemetry into explainable, tested detections and evidence-based triage decisions.
4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.
Incident analysis, evidence, containment, communication, and recovery
Support an authorized incident lifecycle with preserved evidence, proportional actions, accessible communication and verified recovery.
4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.
Required applied assignment
Investigate and close a synthetic defensive-security case
Use only the supplied synthetic dataset. Do not scan, probe, exploit, intercept, test credentials, execute code, contact an alleged actor or access any real account or system. Produce a defensible analyst casebook from authorization and risk framing through tested detections, triage, incident handling and recovery. Real actions require current written authorization and qualified organizational leadership.
- Authorization and data-handling matrix, mission/data flow, asset and identity register, threat-vulnerability-control analysis and prioritized risk register
- Normalized immutable-source timeline, entity correlations, three detection specifications, positive/negative/boundary tests, alert-health and privacy analysis
- Case intake, evidence ledger, scope/impact and alternative hypotheses, severity and escalation, containment/eradication/recovery decision records
- Accessible stakeholder report, notification referral, validation evidence, closure rationale, lessons learned, owned actions and versioned checksum archive
Passing standard: 85 of 100 points, with substantive revision required.
Continue after this course
- Security operations, detection engineering, incident response, digital forensics or threat intelligence under supervised authorization
- Identity, endpoint, network, cloud, application and data security
- Current vendor-neutral or vendor certification objectives checked directly with the certification owner; this internal course is not a professional certification
