Current availability
The subject-specific curriculum is authored but not yet published for completion. Learners may inspect its scope and learning design now. Start, grading, and completion remain unavailable until every listed gate passes.
- qualified review approval is required
- reviewer identity, qualification, evidence, and approval date are required
What this course establishes
- Separate education, National Registry certification, state licensure, medical-director credentialing, protocol, continuing competency and scene-specific authorization
- Prioritize scene safety, consent, primary assessment, time-sensitive threat recognition, resource/transport decisions and reassessment across fictional medical and trauma calls
- Close a simulated call with safe movement/transport planning, structured handoff, accurate patient-care documentation, infection/exposure controls and reproducible quality review
Entry knowledge
- Basic anatomy, physiology, arithmetic and health-literacy vocabulary
- Ability to distinguish observation from diagnosis and protocol from personal preference
- Commitment to stop, request resources and remain within state, agency, medical-direction and demonstrated-competency limits
Scope boundaries
- Every patient, bystander, scene, medication, device, vehicle, dispatch, record and incident is fictional. Learners must not assess, diagnose, treat, medicate, restrain, lift, move, transport, extricate or triage a real person; enter a hazardous scene; drive or operate an ambulance; use oxygen, suction, airway, ventilation, CPR, AED, bleeding-control, splinting or childbirth equipment; contact medical control; or direct real emergency response through this course. For a real emergency, use the applicable local emergency system.
- This internal certificate-of-completion course is not a state-approved EMT education program, psychomotor or BLS skills competency verification, CPR/BLS credential, National Registry eligibility or certification, state license, medical-director credentialing, ambulance-driver authorization, clinical or field internship, employer orientation, continuing-education approval, degree or college credit. No completion time, examination result, certification, licensure, transfer, field competence, placement or employment outcome is guaranteed.
Fastest competency route
Completion is self-paced and competency-based. Prior knowledge can shorten study only when authorization, safety, consent, assessment, intervention boundaries, transport, communication and documentation remain traceable across varied simulations; no completion time, certification, license, psychomotor competence, credit or employment outcome is guaranteed.
- Pass diagnostics on authority, safety, consent, assessment, medical/trauma priorities, special populations, movement, transport, handoff, documentation and infection control
- Repair every planted defect in the fictional EMS call audit
- Complete and defend a simulation-only dispatch-to-transfer-of-care dossier
Full self-paced route
- EMS authority, scene safety, consent, assessment and priority
- Medical, trauma, resuscitation and special-population decisions
- Movement, transport, handoff, documentation, infection control and quality improvement
- Applied dispatch-to-transfer-of-care dossier
Lesson and assessment map
Authority, scene safety, consent, assessment, and transport priority
Enter a fictional call only when the scene, role and patient-contact authority are clear, then identify immediate priorities without premature diagnosis.
4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.
Medical, trauma, resuscitation, and special-population decisions
Recognize time-sensitive patterns, apply authorized EMT-level priorities and escalate without exceeding protocol or demonstrated skill.
4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.
Movement, transport, handoff, documentation, infection control, and quality
Complete a fictional call without injuring patient or crew, losing accountability or manufacturing quality evidence.
4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.
Required applied assignment
Simulation-only dispatch-to-transfer-of-care dossier
Repair the fictional EMS audit and design one complete call from dispatch through accepted transfer of care and quality review. Use only fictional records and paper/digital simulation. Do not contact a real patient, enter a scene, perform a procedure, use emergency equipment, administer medication, drive or direct an emergency response.
- Corrected call audit with one disposition per stable ID and a duplicate-resolution log
- Education/certification/state-license/medical-director-credentialing/protocol/competency task-authority crosswalk
- Dispatch, scene-safety, PPE, resource, consent/refusal, accessible-communication, primary-assessment and reassessment record
- Protocol-bound medical, trauma, resuscitation and special-population decision maps with stop/escalation criteria
- Movement/equipment-capacity/crew and transport plan plus closed-loop MIST/SBAR handoff
- Complete ePCR/correction trail, infection/decontamination/exposure response and accessible QI dashboard with denominators and balancing measures
Passing standard: 80 of 100 points, with substantive revision required.
Continue after this course
- A state-approved EMT education program meeting or exceeding the current National EMS Education Standards
- State-approved BLS skills competency verification, current CPR/BLS requirements and the applicable National Registry/state examination pathway
- Supervised clinical/field experience plus agency orientation, medical-director credentialing and directly observed competency for every authorized protocol, device, medication, movement and transport task
