Current availability

The subject-specific curriculum is authored but not yet published for completion. Learners may inspect its scope and learning design now. Start, grading, and completion remain unavailable until every listed gate passes.

  • qualified review approval is required
  • reviewer identity, qualification, evidence, and approval date are required

What this course establishes

  • Translate a fictional EV concern and exact vehicle identity into an authorized high-voltage work-control plan
  • Use topology, scan data, low-voltage evidence, isolation-monitor information, charging and thermal data to rank fictional fault hypotheses
  • Build a paper-only battery/charging/repair verification and end-of-life dossier without touching a vehicle, battery or EVSE

Entry knowledge

  • Automotive work-order, wiring-diagram and measurement fundamentals
  • DC and AC electrical quantities, series/parallel circuits, power, energy and safe de-energized measurement
  • Ability to distinguish BEV, HEV and PHEV architectures and treat every traction system as energized until qualified verification proves otherwise

Scope boundaries

  • All vehicles, VINs, batteries, customers, chargers, modules, codes and measurements are fictional. Learners must not touch, disable, disconnect, depower, verify absence of voltage on, open, lift, charge, discharge, energize, probe or repair a traction battery, orange cable, inverter, motor, onboard charger, DC/DC converter, charge inlet or EVSE; handle damaged batteries; road-test/tow/store vehicles; fight fires; perform live work; program modules; or calibrate ADAS through this course.
  • This is not technician/facility licensure, ASE or manufacturer certification, registered apprenticeship, supervised hours, electrical qualification, energized-work authorization, PPE qualification, battery shipping/waste authorization, emergency-responder training, Section 609 certification, inspection authorization, college credit or professional certification.
  • Only current VIN- and battery-specific manufacturer service information and emergency-response guidance, qualified personnel, a validated electrically safe work condition, approved rated PPE and instruments, customer authorization, recall/warranty direction and applicable law govern real work. Internal completion or a fastest route never predicts safe repair, certification, inspection approval or employment.

Fastest competency route

Completion is self-paced and competency-based. Prior knowledge may shorten conceptual study only when exact-platform, authorization, measurement, safety and revision evidence remains complete. Hands-on qualification, supervised hours, licenses, live-work authorization, manufacturer certification and emergency-response competence remain external; no fastest-hour, certification or employment promise is made.

  1. Pass diagnostics on EV architecture, energy flow, high-voltage work control, charging, thermal systems, isolation and damaged-battery response
  2. Repair every planted defect in the fictional EV service audit
  3. Complete and defend the EV diagnostic and battery-stewardship dossier

Full self-paced route

  1. Electric-drive architectures, energy flow and high-voltage work control
  2. Battery, thermal, charging, power-electronics and structured diagnostics
  3. Repair verification, damaged vehicles, recalls, software/ADAS and battery stewardship
  4. Applied EV diagnostic and stewardship dossier

Lesson and assessment map

01

Electric-drive architecture, energy flow, and high-voltage work control

Map a fictional BEV, HEV or PHEV and create an exact-platform, qualified high-voltage work-control plan.

4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.

02

Battery, thermal, charging, power electronics, and structured diagnostics

Use fictional low-risk evidence to distinguish battery, charging, thermal, auxiliary-power and communication faults.

4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.

03

Repair verification, damaged vehicles, software/ADAS, and battery stewardship

Create a fictional verification and handoff record that protects electrical, thermal, charging, safety and end-of-life integrity.

4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.

Required applied assignment

Electric vehicle diagnostic and battery-stewardship dossier

Repair the fictional EV service audit and create one paper-only dossier from vehicle identity and architecture through high-voltage work control, charging/thermal diagnosis, authorized repair, verification, incident escalation and battery disposition. Perform no vehicle, EVSE, battery, energized, depower, road-test, towing, storage, shipping, programming or calibration work.

  • Vehicle/configuration, recall/warranty, authorization and electric-drive architecture record
  • Energy-source, qualification, controlled-zone, depower/absence-of-voltage and damaged-vehicle boundary map
  • Battery/thermal/charging/auxiliary/network evidence and predicted-test hypothesis tree
  • Repair and re-energization traveler with parts/software/torque/cooling/interlock and before-after verification
  • Incident transfer, battery chain of custody, customer handoff and quality dashboard with duplicate repair, denominators, missingness and balancing measures

Passing standard: 80 of 100 points, with substantive revision required.

Continue after this course

  • Verify EV technician/facility, electrical qualification, damaged-vehicle storage, battery waste/transport and inspection requirements for the intended jurisdiction
  • Complete supervised laboratories on exact platforms using manufacturer isolation, depower, absence-of-voltage, re-energization, charging and thermal procedures
  • Maintain task authorization, PPE/instrument inspection, service-information, software, calibration, recall, battery-chain-of-custody and continuing-competence records
