Current availability

The subject-specific curriculum is authored but not yet published for completion. Learners may inspect its scope and learning design now. Start, grading, and completion remain unavailable until every listed gate passes.

  • qualified review approval is required
  • reviewer identity, qualification, evidence, and approval date are required

What this course establishes

  • Map apprenticeship, licensing, permit, inspection, employer qualification and task-authorization gates without claiming electrician status
  • Analyze fictional low-energy circuit models, drawings, conductor/load schedules, protection concepts, code hierarchy and accessible documentation
  • Audit fictional job plans, supplied test records, material traceability, defects, corrections, commissioning, handoff and quality measures

Entry knowledge

  • Arithmetic with fractions, decimals, ratios, units and basic algebra; careful reading; diagram literacy; communication; and willingness to stop work for uncertainty
  • Ability to distinguish design value, nameplate value, measured value, calculated value, rating, code requirement, permit condition, manufacturer instruction and field observation
  • Commitment to treat conductors and equipment as hazardous until an authorized qualified process establishes and maintains an electrically safe work condition

Scope boundaries

  • All projects, circuits, readings, people, sites and equipment are fictional. Learners must not open a panel or enclosure, remove a cover, touch a conductor, install or terminate wiring, place a meter, apply or remove a lock/tag, reset protection, energize equipment, work near overhead/underground lines, climb, excavate, test, troubleshoot or repair real electrical equipment through this course.
  • This is not a registered apprenticeship, state-approved related instruction, journey or master license, contractor license, OSHA competent/qualified-person designation, energized-work authorization, arc-flash or PPE qualification, lockout/tagout training, first-aid/CPR certification, code certification, continuing education or college credit. Those decisions require the responsible sponsor, regulator, employer, authority having jurisdiction and qualified instructor.
  • No completion time, score or internal certificate predicts apprenticeship credit, licensing, inspection approval, employment, qualification or safe performance. For a real shock, arc, fire, downed line or electrical emergency, keep away and contact the verified emergency service or utility; do not rely on this course.

Fastest competency route

Completion is self-paced and competency-based. Prior knowledge can shorten conceptual study only when units, assumptions, ratings, sources, code/AHJ decisions, supplied evidence and corrections remain traceable across varied fictional projects. Manual skill and hazard competence require a recognized apprenticeship or supervised lab; no fastest-hour, license, qualification, approval or safety promise is made.

  1. Pass diagnostics on credential boundaries, electrical quantities, circuit models, drawings, ratings, protection, code governance, job planning, supplied test records and quality
  2. Repair every planted defect in the fictional electrical-project audit
  3. Complete and defend the de-energized design, verification and handoff dossier

Full self-paced route

  1. Trade pathway, authority, electrical hazards, quantities, Ohm's law, power and circuit relationships
  2. Drawings, branch concepts, load schedules, conductor/equipment ratings, protection, grounding/bonding concepts, permits and planning
  3. Troubleshooting logic from supplied readings, inspection, testing records, commissioning, corrections, handoff and quality
  4. Applied de-energized design, verification and handoff dossier

Lesson and assessment map

01

Trade pathway, authority, electrical hazards, quantities, circuits, and power

Analyze fictional circuit relationships while keeping qualification and electrical-hazard decisions with the responsible employer, regulator and supervisor.

4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.

02

Drawings, load schedules, ratings, protection concepts, code governance, and job planning

Transform a fictional owner requirement into coordinated drawings, calculations, material records and permit/inspection questions without installing anything.

4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.

03

Diagnostic reasoning from supplied data, inspection, testing records, commissioning, and quality

Use fictional supplied readings and records to isolate defects, verify corrections and hand off an auditable project without touching real equipment.

4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.

Required applied assignment

De-energized design, verification, and handoff dossier

Repair the fictional electrical-project audit and design one paper-only project from credential and code governance through low-energy model calculations, drawings, load/rating coordination, non-operational planning, supplied diagnostic evidence, test records, corrections, commissioning boundaries and handoff. Never inspect, open, touch, test, energize, install or repair real electrical equipment.

  • Apprenticeship, licensing, permit, AHJ, employer qualification and task-authorization matrix
  • Unit-checked fictional circuit calculations and accessible drawing/load/rating schedule with revision control
  • Code/AHJ questions, grounding/bonding and protection concepts, RFI/submittal register and non-operational job-plan audit
  • Supplied-reading hypothesis matrix plus inspection, test, defect, correction and retest trace
  • Commissioning/handoff index and quality dashboard with duplicate repair, denominator, missingness, severity, accessibility and balancing measures

Passing standard: 80 of 100 points, with substantive revision required.

Continue after this course

  • Verify current apprenticeship, licensing, education, experience, examination, background, insurance, permit and continuing-education requirements with the relevant sponsor and regulator
  • Complete registered or otherwise recognized related instruction and supervised on-the-job learning with qualified trainers using approved facilities, equipment, PPE and energy-control systems
  • Maintain code-cycle, manufacturer, testing, documentation, safety, first-aid, specialty and employer qualifications for the actual industry and task
