Current availability

The subject-specific curriculum is authored but not yet published for completion. Learners may inspect its scope and learning design now. Start, grading, and completion remain unavailable until every listed gate passes.

  • qualified review approval is required
  • reviewer identity, qualification, evidence, and approval date are required

What this course establishes

  • Map role, training, electrical, energy-control and task qualifications without claiming technician or qualified-person status
  • Model fictional mechanical, electrical, control, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and select evidence-based maintenance strategies
  • Audit fictional work orders, inspections, condition data, diagnostics, repairs, commissioning, CMMS and reliability measures without touching equipment

Entry knowledge

  • Applied algebra, measurement, units, schematic reading, basic physical science, careful documentation and willingness to stop at unknown energy or authority
  • Ability to separate a symptom, observation, measurement, hypothesis, approved test, root cause and verified correction
  • Commitment to hazardous-energy control, guarding, accessible communication, production integrity and truthful maintenance history

Scope boundaries

  • All assets, energy, readings, processes and records are fictional. Learners must not open panels; enter guarded spaces; energize, jog, bypass, reset, probe, align, lubricate, rig, disassemble or repair; clear jams; apply/remove locks or tags; release pressure; handle chemicals/refrigerant; or perform live/dead electrical testing through this course.
  • This is not hands-on maintenance training, apprenticeship credit, supervised hours, electrical/trade license, qualified-electrical-person status, authorized-employee designation, PLC/vendor certification, rigging or confined-space qualification, college credit or professional certification.
  • Only current law, employer programs, manufacturer documents, engineering controls and authorized qualified personnel govern real work. No internal completion, score or fastest route predicts safe technique, uptime, product quality, licensing or repair outcome.

Fastest competency route

Completion is self-paced and competency-based. Prior knowledge may shorten conceptual study only when asset identity, revisions, energy state, measurement quality, failure evidence, correction and verification remain traceable. Practical skill, supervised hours and workplace authority require external qualification; no fastest-hour, credential or employment promise is made.

  1. Pass diagnostics on authority, drawings, mechanical/electrical/control/fluid-power systems, energy, guarding, maintenance strategy, troubleshooting and reliability
  2. Repair every planted defect in the fictional maintenance audit
  3. Complete and defend the industrial-maintenance reliability dossier

Full self-paced route

  1. Role boundaries, asset identity, drawings, measurements and failure language
  2. Maintenance strategy, precision mechanics, lubrication, power transmission and condition evidence
  3. Electrical/control/fluid-power safety, troubleshooting, commissioning, CMMS and reliability
  4. Applied industrial-maintenance reliability dossier

Lesson and assessment map

01

Role boundaries, asset identity, drawings, measurements, and failure language

Translate a fictional work request into an authority map, configuration baseline and testable problem statement.

4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.

02

Maintenance strategy, precision mechanics, lubrication, power transmission, and condition evidence

Build a paper-only maintenance plan connecting failure modes to safe tasks, thresholds and verification.

4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.

03

Energy, electrical/control/fluid-power systems, troubleshooting, commissioning, and reliability

Audit fictional multi-energy troubleshooting and return-to-service evidence without performing tests or repairs.

4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.

Required applied assignment

Industrial-maintenance reliability dossier

Repair the fictional industrial-maintenance audit and create one paper-only dossier from role authority and asset identity through maintenance strategy, precision mechanics, lubrication, guarding, condition evidence, multi-energy safety, system troubleshooting, commissioning, CMMS and reliability. Perform no live inspection, isolation, measurement, bypass, adjustment, maintenance or repair.

  • Role, qualification, energy, electrical and task-authority matrix
  • Asset/configuration baseline, controlled drawings, system model, failure statement and measurement plan
  • Failure-mode/strategy, PM optimization, precision-mechanical, lubrication, guarding and condition-monitoring evidence
  • Multi-energy critique, motor/control/fluid-power fault tree and authorized test/correction/commissioning chain
  • CMMS and reliability dashboard with duplicate repair, definitions, denominators, missingness, accessibility and balancing measures

Passing standard: 80 of 100 points, with substantive revision required.

Continue after this course

  • Verify employer, apprenticeship, licensing, electrical, energy-control, process and equipment-specific requirements for the intended site
  • Complete supervised lab and field qualification on each asset, instrument, procedure and energy-control boundary
  • Maintain calibration, vendor, safety, troubleshooting, precision-maintenance and continuing-competence records
