  • qualified review approval is required
  • reviewer identity, qualification, evidence, and approval date are required

What this course establishes

  • Assess mission, context, community-defined need, assets, authority and program fit without inventing evidence or treating funder preference as community need
  • Create a controlled program model, implementation plan, accessible participant journey, responsibility structure and reconciled restricted-resource budget
  • Design and interpret monitoring and evaluation that measures reach, fidelity, equity, outcomes, costs and unintended effects with transparent limitations and action owners

Entry knowledge

  • Basic spreadsheet, document and presentation skills
  • Introductory descriptive statistics and budgeting
  • Respectful communication with communities and program participants

Scope boundaries

  • Uses fictional organizations, participants, partners, funders, services, budgets and evaluation data only. Learners must not represent tax status, approve spending, sign agreements, direct regulated services, determine legal compliance, contact real participants, collect sensitive data or promise program impact.
  • Does not replace board/executive authority, community governance, program specialists, safeguarding/clinical professionals, accountants, auditors, counsel, privacy/accessibility experts, funders or evaluators. Federal examples apply only when the organization and award are subject to those exact rules; private, state, local, Tribal and international requirements differ.

Fastest competency route

Completion is self-paced and competency-based. Prior nonprofit experience shortens study only when mission, authority, community input, assumptions, partner commitments, activities, restricted resources, measures, data protections and claims are traceable; no completion time, funding, tax status, credential, program impact or career outcome is guaranteed.

  1. Pass diagnostics on mission, community power, needs/assets, logic models, authority, implementation, budgets, access, privacy, measurement and evaluation
  2. Audit the synthetic program portfolio and reproduce every mission, stakeholder, objective, partner, schedule, restriction, cost, reach, denominator, privacy and impact-claim correction
  3. Complete a decision-ready program analysis book whose model, work plan, budget, evidence, evaluation and improvement actions reconcile

Full self-paced route

  1. Mission, context, community need, governance and program logic
  2. Implementation, partnerships, accessible delivery and resource control
  3. Monitoring, evaluation, reporting and improvement
  4. Applied nonprofit program analysis portfolio

Analyze and improve a fictional nonprofit program

Use only supplied fictional organizations, participants, funders, partners and records. Do not contact real communities, approve a program or payment, sign agreements, interpret law/tax status, collect sensitive information or claim impact. Real work requires authorized community, board/executive, program, finance, grants, legal/compliance, privacy, accessibility and evaluation review.

  • Accessible participant journey, service standards, work plan, responsibility/dependency controls, partner/vendor/subaward analysis, capacity/referral/incident plan and communications
  • Restriction-aware activity budget, cost/match/indirect support, cash/commitment/forecast reconciliation and controlled change record
  • Measurement/evaluation plan, data/privacy controls, denominator/attrition/equity/unintended-effect audit, accessible reports, causal limitations, action tracker and closeout plan

Passing standard: 85 of 100 points, with substantive revision required.
