Current availability
The subject-specific curriculum is authored but not yet published for completion. Learners may inspect its scope and learning design now. Start, grading, and completion remain unavailable until every listed gate passes.
- qualified review approval is required
- reviewer identity, qualification, evidence, and approval date are required
What this course establishes
- Build and update a simulation-only problem representation and differential using hypothesis-driven data, mechanisms, probabilities and explicit uncertainty
- Design a safe fictional diagnostic and management discussion that weighs evidence, harms, patient goals, consent, medication and infection risks, and supervision
- Close communication, documentation, test-result and transition loops while identifying diagnostic error, inequity, system hazards and corrective action
Entry knowledge
- College biology, chemistry, statistics and scientific reading
- Ability to distinguish observation, probability, association and causation
- Commitment to seek supervision and stop when competence or authority is absent
Scope boundaries
- All cases are fictional and limited to paper or digital simulation. Learners must not diagnose, triage, prescribe, recommend patient-specific treatment, calculate or direct a real dose, order or interpret real tests, perform an examination or procedure, obtain operative consent, certify capacity, alter equipment, access a real record, or independently respond to an emergency through this course.
- This internal certificate-of-completion course is not medical school, a clinical rotation, degree, college credit, residency, fellowship, USMLE/COMLEX authorization, physician license, board certification, CME, credentialing, privileging or competency attestation. Only authorized schools, supervisors, licensing boards, certifying boards, institutions and jurisdictions make those decisions; no completion time, exam result, license, entrustment, placement or employment outcome is guaranteed.
Fastest competency route
Completion is self-paced and competency-based. Prior knowledge can shorten study only when reasoning, uncertainty, sources, patient preferences, supervision, safety and follow-up are traceable across varied simulations; no completion time, clinical competence, examination result, licensure, entrustment, credit or employment outcome is guaranteed.
- Pass diagnostics on history, evidence, differential diagnosis, probability, testing, management, consent, safety and follow-up
- Repair every planted defect in the fictional diagnostic-safety audit
- Complete and defend a simulation-only diagnostic reasoning and systems-safety dossier
Full self-paced route
- Patient-centered data gathering and diagnostic reasoning
- Testing, management, consent and safety
- Communication, documentation, follow-up and improvement
- Applied simulation dossier
Lesson and assessment map
Patient-centered data gathering and diagnostic reasoning
Create an evolving, probability-aware differential from verified fictional evidence without premature closure.
4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.
Testing, management, consent, and safety
Compare simulated options using evidence, patient goals, authorization, harms and monitoring rather than reflex action.
4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.
Communication, documentation, follow-up, and improvement
Close diagnostic and care loops with accessible communication, accountable ownership and reflective correction.
4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.
Required applied assignment
Simulation-only diagnostic reasoning and systems-safety dossier
Analyze a fictional evolving case without directing real care. Show source-tagged evidence, differential updating, probability-aware testing, option comparison, informed consent, safety, accessible communication, follow-up ownership and calibrated review. Do not diagnose or treat a real person or claim medical education, clinical competence, entrustment or licensure.
- History, problem representation, differential, probability/test and uncertainty record across three time points
- Evidence, option, medication/infection-safety, consent and supervision plan
- Accessible explanation, teach-back, SBAR, handoff, documentation and result-tracking register
- Diagnostic-event review, bias/equity analysis, corrective action, measures and version history
Passing standard: 80 of 100 points, with substantive revision required.
Continue after this course
- Accredited medical education with supervised clinical assessment
- Jurisdiction-specific medical board statutes, regulations and application requirements
- Supervised residency training and specialty-specific competency, certification and institutional privilege pathways
