Current availability
The subject-specific curriculum is authored but not yet published for completion. Learners may inspect its scope and learning design now. Start, grading, and completion remain unavailable until every listed gate passes.
- qualified review approval is required
- reviewer identity, qualification, evidence, and approval date are required
What this course establishes
- Map apprenticeship, license, permit, code, utility, inspection, certification and task-authorization gates without claiming plumber status
- Analyze fictional water-supply, drainage-waste-vent and fixture plans using units, flow/pressure/elevation and sizing concepts without designing a real system
- Audit fictional materials, cross-connections, tests, service evidence, corrections, commissioning, handoff and quality records
Entry knowledge
- Careful reading, arithmetic, fractions, ratios, area/volume, pressure and elevation reasoning, and willingness to stop when identity or authority is uncertain
- Ability to distinguish a drawing, code requirement, product listing, manufacturer instruction, field observation, test result and inspection decision
- Commitment to potable-water protection, sanitation, accessibility, traceable records and safe escalation
Scope boundaries
- All buildings, occupants, pipes, fluids, pressures, fixtures, readings and records are fictional. Learners must not open, cut, join, solder, braze, solvent-cement, pressurize, test, disinfect or repair piping; operate valves; disturb gas/medical-gas/sewer systems; excavate or enter trenches/confined spaces; isolate energy; or respond hands-on to sewage, gas or scalding hazards through this course.
- This is not a registered apprenticeship, supervised work experience, apprentice/journey/master/contractor license, backflow-tester or medical-gas qualification, competent-person designation, code certification, utility authorization, college credit or professional certification.
- Only the adopted code, AHJ, utility/purveyor, designer, manufacturer, employer, licensed plumber and qualified specialists govern real work. No internal completion, time or score predicts licensing, qualification, safe technique, employment, inspection acceptance or health outcome.
Fastest competency route
Completion is self-paced and competency-based. Prior knowledge may shorten conceptual study only when units, drawing revisions, fixture loads, elevations, material/product identity, cross-connections, test evidence and corrections remain traceable. Apprenticeship hours, manual skill, licenses and safety competence require supervised external routes; no fastest-hour, license or employment promise is made.
- Pass diagnostics on authority, supply, DWV, drawings, materials, cross-connections, testing, service and safety
- Repair every planted defect in the fictional plumbing audit
- Complete and defend the plumbing planning and verification dossier
Full self-paced route
- Pathway, code authority, system boundaries, drawings, quantities and accessible fixtures
- Supply, drainage/waste/vent, materials, joining, supports, cross-connection and paper planning
- Hazard boundaries, supplied diagnostics, testing, commissioning, handoff and quality
- Applied plumbing planning and verification dossier
Lesson and assessment map
Trade pathway, authority, plumbing systems, drawings, quantities, and accessibility
Translate a fictional building need into an authority map and coordinated, unit-checked plumbing system model.
4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.
Supply and DWV reasoning, materials, joining, supports, and cross-connection control
Create a paper-only plumbing plan that traces hydraulic and sanitary function, compatible materials, protection and inspection gates.
4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.
Hazard boundaries, supplied diagnostics, testing, commissioning, handoff, and quality
Use fictional symptoms and supplied evidence to isolate defects, preserve safe escalation and build an auditable turnover record.
4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.
Required applied assignment
Plumbing planning and verification dossier
Repair the fictional plumbing-system audit and create one paper-only premise-plumbing dossier from credential/code governance through drawings, quantities, supply/DWV reasoning, materials, cross-connection protection, non-operational safety planning, supplied diagnostics/tests, correction, commissioning, handoff and quality. Perform no real joining, valve operation, utility/gas/sewer work, pressure test, disinfection, excavation, entry or repair.
- Apprenticeship, licensing, permit, code, AHJ, utility, certification and employer-authority matrix
- Accessible system-boundary and revision-controlled drawing/RFI package with unit-checked fixture and takeoff schedules
- Supply/DWV reasoning, material/joining/support, lead-free product and cross-connection evidence registers
- Hazard boundary plus supplied symptom/hypothesis, test, defect, correction and retest chain
- Commissioning/handoff index and quality dashboard with duplicate repair, denominator, severity, missingness, accessibility and balancing measures
Passing standard: 80 of 100 points, with substantive revision required.
