Current availability

The subject-specific curriculum is authored but not yet published for completion. Learners may inspect its scope and learning design now. Start, grading, and completion remain unavailable until every listed gate passes.

  • qualified review approval is required
  • reviewer identity, qualification, evidence, and approval date are required

What this course establishes

  • Model a task as explicit interface states, actions, transitions, permissions, failures and recovery while choosing patterns by semantics rather than appearance
  • Specify a tokenized component system with complete responsive, keyboard, touch, screen-reader, content and validation behavior
  • Prototype, evaluate and hand off an interface with traceable evidence, implementation acceptance tests, version governance and ethical choice architecture

Entry knowledge

  • Basic visual-design and user-flow vocabulary
  • Ability to use a vector or interface prototyping tool
  • Basic HTML semantics are helpful

Scope boundaries

  • Uses fictional product records only and does not authorize real participant research, production tracking, legal conformance claims, biometric or high-impact decisions, manipulative design, publication of unlicensed assets or unattended implementation
  • Does not replace people with disabilities, qualified researchers, content designers, engineers, accessibility testers, privacy/security/legal teams, localization specialists, design-system maintainers or accountable product owners

Fastest competency route

Completion is self-paced and competency-based. Prior skill can shorten study only when every interaction, component, accessibility, evaluation and revision criterion is demonstrated; no fixed duration, job, certification, WCAG conformance, implementation approval, adoption, conversion or commercial result is promised.

  1. Pass diagnostics on state models, semantic pattern choice, navigation, forms, overlays, feedback, tokens, responsive behavior, input modalities, accessibility and design-system governance
  2. Complete the supplied synthetic component-audit and task-flow portfolio
  3. Correct every role, state, label, keyboard, focus, touch, validation, feedback, reflow, motion, content, token, variant, deceptive-choice and handoff defect before final assessment

Full self-paced route

  1. Task models, pattern selection and interaction states
  2. Components, tokens, responsive and accessible behavior
  3. Prototype evaluation, system governance and implementation acceptance
  4. Applied portfolio and final assessment

Lesson and assessment map

01

Task models, state transitions, and semantic pattern selection

Model an interface as an understandable system and choose controls whose semantics match the user's action.

4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.

02

Components, tokens, responsive behavior, and accessible input

Specify reusable components with complete states and behavior across themes, sizes and input modes.

4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.

03

Prototype evaluation, system governance, and implementation acceptance

Validate interaction behavior, govern component change and verify that implementation matches the design contract.

4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.

Required applied assignment

Task-to-acceptance interface system portfolio

Using only the supplied fictional component audit, design one complete interface workflow from state model through reusable components, prototype evidence, system governance and implementation acceptance. Do not use real participant data, manipulative choice architecture, unlicensed assets or claim legal conformance, production readiness or universal usability without qualified review and implementation testing.

  • Task/state-transition model with permissions, persistence, failures, recovery and justified semantic pattern choices
  • Token architecture and component specifications with anatomy, content, variants, responsive/localization behavior, complete states, keyboard/focus/touch/screen-reader/validation rules
  • Interactive prototype, ethical research plan, neutral script, observation evidence, bounded synthesis, prioritized issues and revised behavior
  • Contribution/version/deprecation proposal, implementation handoff, accessibility and ethical acceptance matrix, implementation review, peer challenge response and substantive revision history

Passing standard: 85 of 100 points, with substantive revision required.
