Current availability
The subject-specific curriculum is authored but not yet published for completion. Learners may inspect its scope and learning design now. Start, grading, and completion remain unavailable until every listed gate passes.
- qualified review approval is required
- reviewer identity, qualification, evidence, and approval date are required
What this course establishes
- Explain fictional wind-turbine energy conversion, subsystem interfaces, operating states and alarm evidence
- Plan paper-only inspection and maintenance work with task-specific authorization, energy, weather, access, tools, parts and quality hold points
- Diagnose fictional faults from SCADA, inspection, vibration, temperature, oil and electrical evidence without operating or accessing a turbine
Entry knowledge
- Algebra, units, torque and power concepts, basic electricity, mechanical diagrams and careful recordkeeping
- Ability to distinguish tower, rotor, hub, blades, pitch, yaw, drivetrain, generator, converter, transformer, controller, brake, hydraulic, cooling and balance-of-plant systems
- Commitment to stop-work authority, OEM procedures, hazardous-energy control, fall/rescue boundaries and accessible communication
Scope boundaries
- All turbines, work orders, alarms, measurements, personnel and sites are fictional. Learners must not climb, enter a turbine or confined space, work at height, cross barriers, operate or reset a turbine, apply/remove locks, verify absence of voltage, open electrical/hydraulic/mechanical systems, handle lubricants or chemicals, rig/hoist, perform rescue, bypass interlocks, alter SCADA/controllers, or approach energized or rotating equipment through this course.
- This is not OEM authorization, a climbing/fall-protection/rescue credential, electrical qualified-person status, LOTO authorized-employee designation, confined-space role, crane/rigging qualification, apprenticeship or supervised hours, college credit, license or professional certification.
- Only current controlled OEM manuals, site procedures, energy-control program, rescue plan, electrical one-line, work permit, weather limits, calibrated instruments, qualified personnel and authorities having jurisdiction govern real work. Internal completion or a fastest route never predicts safe field performance, certification, availability or employment.
Fastest competency route
Completion is self-paced and competency-based. Prior knowledge may shorten conceptual study only when system, work-control, measurement and revision evidence remains complete. Climbing, rescue, electrical, LOTO, rigging and platform-specific practical qualification remain external; no fastest-hour, certification, availability or employment promise is made.
- Pass diagnostics on turbine systems, operating states, work control, hazardous energy, inspection, condition monitoring and fault isolation
- Repair every planted defect in the fictional service audit
- Complete and defend the maintenance and diagnostic dossier
Full self-paced route
- Energy conversion, turbine architecture, controls and operating evidence
- Work planning, hazardous energy, access, inspection and preventive maintenance
- Condition monitoring, fault isolation, corrective work, commissioning and reliability
- Applied maintenance and diagnostic dossier
Lesson and assessment map
Energy conversion, turbine architecture, controls, and operating evidence
Trace energy and signals through a fictional turbine and distinguish normal control from a fault requiring controlled investigation.
4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.
Work planning, hazardous energy, inspection, and preventive maintenance
Build a paper-only maintenance plan whose permits, isolations, weather, access, tools, parts and hold points match the fictional task.
4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.
Condition monitoring, fault isolation, corrective work, and reliability
Use fictional trends and tests to rank fault hypotheses and create a safe, verifiable corrective-work and return-to-service record.
4 questions: recall, application, judgment, and error correction.
Required applied assignment
Wind-turbine maintenance and diagnostic dossier
Repair the fictional service audit and create one paper-only dossier from turbine architecture and operating evidence through work control, inspection, maintenance, diagnostics, return to service and reliability. Perform no climbing, entry, isolation, electrical/mechanical/hydraulic work, rigging, rescue, controller access or turbine operation.
- Turbine subsystem, energy/signal path, operating-state and authority map
- Task hazard, hazardous-energy, weather/access, fall/rescue and communication hold-point plan
- OEM-procedure, tools/parts/calibration, inspection, torque, lubrication and contamination-control package
- Condition-monitoring evidence, hypothesis/test matrix and corrective-work verification
- Return-to-service and reliability dashboard with duplicate repair, denominators, exclusions, missingness and balancing measures
Passing standard: 80 of 100 points, with substantive revision required.
Continue after this course
- Verify employer, OEM, electrical, climbing/rescue, confined-space, rigging, first-aid and environmental requirements for the intended location and turbine platform
- Complete supervised laboratories and field training on the exact turbine, energy-isolation points, rescue system, tooling, lubricants, instruments and maintenance management system
- Maintain documented task qualification, practical demonstrations, medical/fit requirements where applicable and recurrent competence
