What this course establishes
- Distinguish Arabic script, beginner vocalization, transliteration, and meaning in a basic greeting
- Exchange name, origin, residence, and limited language information in introductory Modern Standard Arabic
- State non-understanding, request repetition or slower speech, and confirm a key detail while recognizing address agreement
Entry knowledge
- No prior Arabic required
- Ability to read or use an accessible alternative for short right-to-left text
Scope boundaries
- Introductory Modern Standard Arabic interaction only; not fluency, dialect mastery, Qur'anic or Classical Arabic expertise, interpretation, translation, complete literacy, certification, or professional-language qualification
Fastest competency route
No fluency or fastest-hour claim; acceleration depends on demonstrated listening, speaking, right-to-left reading, writing, interaction, and repair competence rather than transliteration recognition.
- Pass script, vocalization, meaning, listening, pronunciation, and register diagnostics after approved audio exists
- Complete greeting, identity, and communication-repair performances
- Correct script, direction, vocalization, transliteration, grammar, meaning, address, and register errors in a final portfolio
Full self-paced route
- Script, vocalization, and greetings lesson with qualified-speaker audio
