What this course establishes
- Decode a core set of Cyrillic greetings with learner stress support and distinguish informal singular from polite/plural address
- Exchange name, origin, residence, and limited language information using basic person forms and location cases
- State non-understanding, request repetition or slower speech, ask for spelling, and confirm a key detail
Entry knowledge
- No prior Russian required
- Ability to read or use an accessible alternative for short Cyrillic text
Scope boundaries
- Introductory A1-oriented interaction only; not fluency, full Cyrillic or case mastery, interpretation, translation, TORFL certification, literary analysis, or professional-language qualification
Fastest competency route
No fluency or fastest-hour claim; acceleration depends on demonstrated listening, speaking, Cyrillic reading, writing, interaction, stress awareness, case selection, and repair competence rather than transliteration or isolated phrase recognition.
- Pass Cyrillic, stress, ё, address, listening, pronunciation, and case diagnostics after approved audio exists
- Complete greeting, identity, and communication-repair performances
- Correct script, stress, person, case, register, meaning, and interaction errors in a final portfolio
Full self-paced route
- Cyrillic, stress, greetings, and address lesson with qualified-speaker audio
- Identity, location, languages, and basic case lesson
- Requests, clarification, and confirmation lesson
- Interaction portfolio, feedback, revision, and final assessment
